A brief history of Schluter North America’s facilities
Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas
A new Schluter distribution center and training facility opens in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. The 500,000-square-foot center houses the majority of Schluter’s 8,000 SKUs, enhancing service levels and shipping times in the central and southern US states.
Shower Tray Production Facility
The Schluter® Shower Tray production facility opens its doors in Plattsburgh, NY. Sophisticated in innovation and design, the manufacturing superstructure produces the complete offering of shower trays designed for both point and linear drains.
Thin-set Manufacturing Facility
Located on the Schluter®-Systems Plattsburgh, NY campus, the thin-set manufacturing facility produces Schluter’s complete line of thin-set mortars. The 50,000 square-foot facility features an 89-foot-high, gravity-fed batching tower that houses four silos and adheres to the US Green Building Council’s requirements on sustainability in building design, construction, and operation.
New Vancouver Training Center
Servicing the greater Vancouver, British Columbia area, a new training center is inaugurated to accommodate large groups of installers, contractors, and other industry professionals.
Training Center for the Greater Toronto Area
A training center fit with a classroom and hands-on workshop area opens in Toronto, Ontario. The training center welcomes hundreds of industry professionals every year for workshops and seminars.
McCarran, Nevada
The west-coast distribution and training center is founded just outside of Reno in McCarran, NV to accommodate the growing needs of the business and to simplify distribution to the western parts of the US and Canada. Sitting on over 14 acres of land, the LEED Gold-certified building features sensible and sustainable technologies that maximize energy efficiency. This facility also welcomes hundreds of industry professionals every year for workshops.
New Building in Montreal
Schluter Canada moves into its new, LEED Gold-certified building in Montreal, Quebec. The multiple award-winning design of the building emphasizes philosophies observed by Schluter as a corporation: comfort, flexibility, and sustainability. Nestled on a picturesque 450-acre lot, the 196,020-square-foot facility is home to a state-of-the-art video production studio, training area, and several key departments including Education, Customer Service, Marketing, Assembly, and more.
KERDI-BOARD Facility
The KERDI-BOARD production facility commences building panel production on the Schluter Plattsburgh campus. Today, in addition to producing a host of different sizes and configurations of the KERDI-BOARD building panel, the production facility also manufactures KERDI-BOARD niches, benches, and shower curbs.
Schluter Canada
Schluter Canada is founded in Montreal, Quebec.
New Name
Schluter Tile is henceforth called Schluter®-Systems.
Schluter Plattsburgh
Schluter®-Systems first North American facility is founded in Plattsburgh, NY on an expansive, 70 acres of land. The first product manufactured on site is the Schluter®-SCHIENE.
Schluter Tile
Founder Werner Schlüter commences his professional career installing tile under the name Schlüter Tile.
