An internet connection is required to utilize the WiFi functionality. The thermostat will function as a regular 'programmable' thermostat if no connection is available.
To setup the WiFi functionality, select the Menu on the thermostat and then select the WiFi/Weather setting. Follow the prompts on the thermostat to setup the WiFi connection and then start the process for the activiation email to be sent to your email address.
