In a curbless shower, waterproofing should ideally extend across the entire bathroom floor, as it must be installed in all areas subject to water exposure. Protecting the entire floor with Schluter®-Systems uncoupling membranes (e.g., DITRA or DITRA-HEAT) also protects the tile covering from damage due to subfloor movement. Membrane seams, floor/wall transitions, and the floor/shower transition are sealed with KERDI-BAND.
