Schluter^®-KERDI-FLEX

Schluter®-KERDI-FLEX is a flexible polyethylene waterproofing strip used to seal movement joints over Schluter®-DITRA in specialty applications where large movements are expected, i.e. over expansion joints or construction joints.

Installation with Schluter®-KERDI and Schluter®-KERDI-DS KERDI and KERDI-DS shall be separated at existing expansion, structural, and flexible edge joints. Cover the joints with KERDI-FLEX using Schluter-SET, Schluter-ALL-SET, Schluter-FAST-SET, or unmodified thin-set mortar. To allow for greater movement, the center section of the KERDI-FLEX can be tucked into the cavity of the expansion joint prior to bonding. Connections to fixed building elements can be achieved by using KERDI-FLEX in conjunction with KERDI-FIX, suitable trowel-applied waterproofing materials (such as urethane or similar), that require atmospheric moisture to cure, or other suitable sealing compounds. KERDI shall be separated at existing expansion, structural, and flexible edge joints. Cover the joints with KERDI-FLEX. To allow for greater movement, the center section of the KERDI-FLEX can be tucked into the cavity of the expansion joint prior to bonding.Once the entire membrane—with seams, corners, and connections—has been completely bonded, and therefore waterproofed, the covering may be applied.

Installation avec membranes de désolidarisation Schluter 1. À partir du centre des joints, remplissez les cavités de Schluter-SET, Schluter-ALL-SET, Schluter-FAST-SET, ou du ciment-colle non modifié sur une largeur d'environ 8" (203 mm). 2. Appliquez une autre couche de ciment-colle sur le joint au moyen d’une truelle de 1/4" x 3/16" (6 mm x 5 mm) à dents en V ou de la truelle Schluter®-KERDI-TROWEL à dents carrées de 1/8" x 1/8 (3 mm x 3 mm). 3. Centrez sur le joint une bande Schluter®-KERDI-BAND de 5" (127 mm) ou une bande Schluter®-KERDI-FLEX. Encastrez la bande dans le ciment-colle à l’aide du côté plat de la truelle, de façon à assurer une couverture complète, à enlever l’excédent de ciment-colle et à retirer les poches d’air. 4. Appliquez une bande KERDI-BAND ou KERDI-FLEX aux jonctions du mur et du sol, comme décrit aux étapes de 1 à 3, en assurant un chevauchement d’au moins 2" sur les membranes de désolidarisation.

Notes KERDI-BAND and KERDI-FLEX must lap the uncoupling membranes at seams and at floor/wall transitions by a minimum of 2" (50 mm) in order to maintain waterproof integrity. In some applications the vertical section of the floor/wall transition will not accept a bond to Schluter-SET, Schluter-ALL-SET, Schluter-FAST-SET, or unmodified thin-set mortar. Connections to such elements can be achieved using Schluter®-KERDI-FIX or suitable trowel-applied waterproofing materials, such as those that require atmospheric moisture to cure (e.g., urethane sealant).
