If additional compensation height is required, you may use KERDI-BOARD, tile backerboard, water-resistant gypsum backerboard, polystyrene foam, or similar. If the substrate is concrete, a wood material for compensation height SHOULD NOT be used. This is because the wood may be exposed to residual moisture from the slab.
